Configuration Management Training Courses

Configuration management has to ensure the quality is maintained at every stage while providing data so that the effectiveness of the whole operation is attained. This is so because quality is everything. There are various activities that are dealt by configuration management. They can be categorized as planning, identification, configuration control, status accounting and verification and audit.

This configuration management plays an important role in different of the ITIL library hence it is imperative and essential also to have a separate department set up for its working. It is also because any team that does not perform well the success of the processes in the other sections of the business will definitely be affected badly. On the other hand if it is properly implemented, the success of the entire IT organization will be ensured and there can be no doubt about it.

Going back we can see in details how ITIL configuration management deals with each activity. The first thing for any organization is to have a proper planning so that the objectives and the processes are well defined. This is being done by this configuration management database well, success is sure. The next in line is identification. All configuration structures and items that are found within the IT infrastructure are identified by this system. Then of course is the configuration control. This is no less important. Its work is to ensure that only items of proper configuration will be accepted and placed in the database of the control management.

Another area is status accounting. This is where a track from start to finish of different the configuration items and their working is kept and is well known. Lastly verification and auditing department has to verify and also ensure that the correct information is given to and also is being recorded in the database of the configuration management. Periodic audit of the organization is performed and the database is always maintained with the latest data so that it is kept up to date.

Likewise it does have a relationship with other departments in bringing success. It will offer assistance by giving information about the affected configuration items to the help desk thus rendering the work of ITIL incident management a bit easier. And the customers can be helped in a better way if the information about any detail is given in time. The other department is problem management. Assistance to this is also rendered by creating a link based on the incident, problem and change management processes amongst these configuration items. Thus we can see organization is maintained.
